Discussion questions

1. Lately, how have you seen God shaping your life?
God is an amazing potter, and He forms us through life. Interestingly Adam in Hebrew (אדם) literally means 'red clay' or 'dust' -- God as our potter is more literal than we might have thought! Reflect some on the things of late -- how has He blessed, intervened, comforted, etc.? We may go through times in life in which people mistreat or abuse us. God is there to comfort us and strengthen us through times of trouble. We may also go through really joyous occasions in life. God has blessed you, and we should all be grateful for His blessings in life! Regardless of the circumstance, God is always working for the good of His children. In the end, we will know more of the reasoning behind certain situations, but we can always rely on the truth of Scripture and what is revealed about the goodness of God's character as we go through life.

2. Is there a situation in your life that would require you to obedient to God molding your life?
Often, God calls us to do certain things, and often, these tasks or missions are extremely difficult. He often gives us things that are way too big for us to do successfully on our own, and when we seek Him for help, He is always there to equip and empower us. Not all things that have an impact will be within your comfort zone. While it is sometimes wise to operate within your strengths, God often operates in the unexpected and surprising, and in your weakness, you will see God act in amazing ways that you would not have seen otherwise. Take some time to seek God as to situations in which He has called you to act, and be pliable as He molds you into capability to be successful in those situations.

3. Are there any areas in which you have hardened your heart against God? If so, will you take time now to get right with Him?
Unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, impatience, envy, pride, and in general, sin, can cause us to have rough patches in our relationship with God. Hebrews 2 and 3 warn us not to harden our hearts against God. Many of the Israelites in the wilderness did harden their hearts against God, and no good came from it! It's best to walk with God. His intentions for our life are amazing. He has plans to prosper us, not to harm us, and His plans lead to a brilliant future, ultimately in restoration and life in Heaven (see Jeremiah 29:11-13). Whatever the day or time, it's always a great time to be right with God. If you have hardened your heart against Him, take some time now and pray. Recommit your life and walk to the Lord, and confess whatever is in the way. Really take time to experience the love that He has for you, and reflect on His provision for you in the past. His heart is to bless His children -- why not you?
