Discussion questions

1. What is the first thing you think about when you see snow on the ground?
Whether you get a great deal of snow in your area, or whether snow is extremely scarce, it's amazing to see the wonder of God's Creation. When you see snow, do you think about the beauty of snow? The potential hazard? The cold temperature?

2. What practical purposes does snow have environmentally?
Just as the passage in Isaiah 55 states, snow and rain have its purposes -- much of God's Creation is dependent on water, the content and byproduct of rain and snow. This leads to nourishment of grass, trees, flowers, and the like. In addition, snow is also a signal to much of Creation that Winter is either coming or already in effect. This leads to animals storing up in advance, huddling up, or even hibernating for a season. God often so clearly has made things with apparent design, and seasons are a wonderful part of His Creation!

3. How does snow illustrate the effectiveness of God's Word?
Rain and snow have their purposes -- likewise, God's Word goes forth and accomplishes all that He intends for it to accomplish. God's Word is our guide (see Psalm 119:105), our lesson-book (see 2 Timothy 3:16), our convicter (see Hebrews 4:12), and our revelation about Jesus Christ (see Old Testament in prediction of the New Testament, as well as the New Testament itself). Regardless of the circumstance, God's Word WILL do its work. How will you respond?

4. What is holiness?
Holiness is purity before God, a separation from things corrupt and offensive to Him. We are commanded to be Holy, just as the LORD is Holy (e.g. Leviticus 11:44 and 19:2, Ephesians 1:4, Ephesians 5:27). Even when the prophet Isaiah was before God, he realized how impure He was. God, however, is able to purify us. Through Jesus, we can be cleansed from our sin and brought to holiness before God. 'He who knew no sin was made sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him' (see 2 Corinthians 5:21). What a joy it is to be loved by God!

5. Through faith in Jesus Christ, God imputes the righteousness of His Son to our own lives, turning our crimson stain of sin into purity (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:21). Have you trusted Him today?
Trusting in Jesus is an extremely important decision. For more, feel free to contact us or to visit our Know Jesus page. However we can point you in the right direction, we would love to do so. God bless you!
