About FebruWEARy Clothing Drive
Many people are in need of clothing, and donations are lower during off-holiday months. FebruWEARy is a challenge for all to donate clothing during the month of February so that those with lack of clothing can have more layers or adequate clothing for the months ahead.
Some challenge the idea of donating clothes by saying that people should pick themselves up by their bootstraps and provide for themselves. While some people are able to overcome obstacles on their own, others really do need the extra help. Jesus was very much against this idea of ignoring the poor. In loving others as ourselves, we should be looking to honor God by helping those in need. Jesus states in Matthew 25 that in the end, the King will say to those who are His:
"Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done the same unto me." - Matthew 25:40b
In the best circumstances, you can also partner with an organization that teaches wise financial spending tips, helps with getting the less-advantaged jobs, etc., but again, any gift that you give out of your heart to the Lord, whether in money, clothing, time, or any other resource will be rewarded by God in the end.
A while ago, Sterling recorded a video on coordinating a clothing drive. Hopefully this video can provide you some helpful tips in coordinating something that will help those in need in your area:

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed. - Proverbs 19:17

Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor. - Proverbs 22:9
"If among you, one of your brothers becomes poor in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be. Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, 'The seventh year, the year of release is near,' and your eye look grudgingly on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to the Lord against you, and you be guilty of sin. You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, 'You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.' - Deuteronomy 15:7-11
"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." - James 1:27
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, 'You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.' - Deuteronomy 15:11
Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. - Matthew 5:42
If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. - Isaiah 58:10
